Will butter become stale after the New Year? An important announcement by Kołodziejczak
On Friday, December 20, Deputy Minister of Agriculture Michał Kołodziejczak appeared in the “Guest of Radio ZET” program. Answering questions about butter prices, he pointed to other problems.
As deputy minister of agriculture, Kołodziejczak was asked about butter prices at the initial stage of the interview. The host of the program wanted to know when it would start to get cheaper. – We can expect real reductions in butter prices in stores after the new year – replied the politician.
Kołodziejczak announces a drop in butter prices
– We are already observing trends in smaller orders from the Czech Republic, Slovakia and other countries for our dairy products – he assured. – Butter is expensive all over the world, there is no strange effect here – he added.
– For me, what is more important is that there will be no examples of such butter in the case of other products soon – emphasized Kołodziejczak. – The example of butter causes – at least for me – even greater mobilization to the fact that reforms in trade, industry, processing, our farms need to be accelerated – he said.
Kołodziejczak about butter reserves
When asked whether releasing a thousand tons of butter reserves was not enough, Kołodziejczak replied decisively. – someone who doesn’t know anything about trading can say that – he replied. – This will move a certain mechanism – he explained. – It’s already working, butter is not getting more expensive – he noted. – Those who have butter in stock have no reason to stop selling – he emphasized.
According to Kołodziejczak, the release of reserves also means “showing that the state has the tools, is working and will use its own mechanisms.” – Butter itself as butter is not a priority topic. We feel other things more in our pockets, which are quite dangerous – said the deputy minister.
– What scares me more than the price of butter is the fact that, for example, there are more and more so-called loans being taken out. payday loans. This is a point for us to reflect on. The direction in which the economy is heading must be better targeted, he said.
