Wilfredo Leon Show in the final. A great victory in Lublin!

For the Lublin club this is the first final of the European Cup in its history. The great volleyball festival for Bogdanka Luk Lublin ended with an impressive victory. The club from PlusLiga won with a well -known Italian brand, Cucine Lube Civitanova, in four sets.

MVP Award of the match for Wilfredo Leon, fully deserved. The host of Bogdanka Luk and the Polish national team scored 22 points, of which as many as six directly from the service field.

The Wednesday final of the Challenge Cup could satisfy even the most demanding volleyball fan. There were plenty of quality, interesting actions and – it’s probably the most visible – offensive forces on both sides. This was visible, especially looking at the show in the service field. The mentioned Leon, having six service aces, is not the only man worthy of a distinction. Three aces were added by Mikołaj Sawicki, two Canadian Fynnian McCarthy.

In addition, Marcin Komenda led the team’s game very wisely. The playmaker Bogdanka Luk skillfully was able to use both the advantages of his leader, i.e. Leon, and not to forget about other zones, which was certainly an additional difficulty for Italian guests. Example? Kewin Sasak, the attacker, who gave very strong arguments on the right wing – ending the meeting with 16 points on the account.

The fourth set turned out to be the key to success. Volleyballers Bogdanka Luk had to chase opponents by the vast majority of the parties. They lost, among others 14:16 or 18:21. At the finish line, however, the Lublin team overtook the Italian, winning the advantage of 26:24. This also seems to be an announcement of what can happen in a rematch, already on the Apennine Peninsula. Cucine Lube volleyballers will definitely want to get back for a failure in Lublin. Italians after losing 1: 3, but in a rematch they will have to play with a very small margin of error. Two sets for Bogdanka Luk can mean winning the Challenge Cup.
