Wedlowski manor house near Warsaw. This is where Ptasie Mleczko was invented

Those looking for unusual attractions and historic houses will certainly be interested in visiting Wedel’s former villa. Although it is no longer teeming with life today, it is still an important point.
The villa in question is located in Otwock. It’s actually about the “Wolimontowice” manor house located at ul. Hugona Kołłątaja 92. Although it was built around 1890, and today it is empty and evokes extreme emotions, it can still be an interesting tourist point. If you are nearby, it is worth going there, at least for a few minutes. It is about 25 km from the center of Warsaw.
The old Wedel villa is a unique facility
The Wedel family needs no introduction. Most Poles are familiar with the famous confectionery products of a brand that has survived to this day. In many cities you can find cafes under the Wedel brand, serving, among others: hot chocolate, desserts and cakes. These products had to come a long way before they became so famous. The famous Ptasie Mleczko was invented in a villa in Otwock. Some people like to look at it, although the sight is rather sad.
What remains of the villa and manor house, which were once teeming with life, are empty walls, but interesting structures, made in a very characteristic way. Objects created in this style were known as Świdermajery, which meant that they were wooden summer architecture from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. Although everything may seem modest, it is actually considered unique and manor-like. The building also has an interesting history. The famous Wedel family purchased this estate from the first owner in 1910.
This is what is left of the Wedel villa
The villa, although old and damaged, looks impressive. Standing in front of it, we can still see the beauty of the wood, large windows, and interesting decorative elements on the roof. What this place looks like today is constantly monitored by tourists, including urbex enthusiasts. Some time ago, a recording from inside the facility appeared on YouTube. The creator of the channel went to the property to conduct his own “investigation”.
You won’t find well-kept or luxurious interiors there. The villa is surrounded by lush vegetation. There are a lot of boards, old tires and garbage lying next to it. The whole thing has fallen into total ruin, but you can still see traces of former tenants and homeless people. At the rear entrance we will see a unique veranda with small stools. In one part of the building there is damaged furniture and a roof is missing. It will not be safe to go inside because the building may collapse. There is no indication that this place will regain its splendor in the near future, such as Abram Gurewicz’s guesthouse, rebuilt almost from scratch, in the same city.
