We pay more for this with Ryanair. An unusual change was noticed

Tourists are often willing to pay extra for the opportunity to choose a seat on the plane. Many airlines make money on the fact that we want to sit by the window or next to a loved one. Ryanair has made a change.

Ryanair does not stop only with changes in connection networks or the abandonment of paper backing cards. It turns out that he recently raised the fees for choosing a seat on the plane. Even though the difference is small, it could be a sign of the beginning of something more serious.

Higher fares on Ryanair

The case is reported by Fly4free.pl. One of the people on the portal’s forum noticed that Ryanair charges extra fees a higher fee (PLN 2) for a specific seat – by the window. If we want to choose another place on our own, we will also pay extra – the same as before, but less. Not long ago, everyone in a given row spent the same amount on this option and it didn’t matter what chair we chose.

It was normal for the price for choosing a seat to vary depending on the row – seats with more legroom were more expensive – but within a given row you always paid the same for both the middle seat and the aisle seat. Now the most expensive are window seats.

Ryanair informs about this

When visiting the official website of the Irish airline Ryanair, there is no information about changes or modifications in calculating seat selection fees. It is known that for seats with additional legroom in rows 1-2 and 16-17 you pay from 11 to 33 euros, and for seats in the front (rows 2-5) you have to pay from 7 to 21 euros. Choosing a standard seat costs an additional 4.5 to 15.5 euros (rows 18-33). The amounts will depend on demand, flight length and a number of other variables. However, there is no mention of paying more for a window seat.

We checked it and in fact, for a selected row, in which the choice of seats B and C costs, for example, PLN 31.77, for seat A, i.e. next to the window, we will spend PLN 33.89. An example would be a flight from Warsaw to Malaga. If you choose a seat in 11A, you will pay PLN 44.44, and 11C – PLN 42.32. The same applies when choosing places to visit Manchester and other cities.

It can be comforting to know that the difference is small, because we are talking about penny matters. We can only hope that Ryanair will not start charging much more for such seats. Much will probably depend on the demand for such armchairs. As is well known, many passengers love to admire the views from the window during a flight.
