We can do the cheapest shopping in this chain. Neither Lidl nor Biedronka
In June, prices in stores dropped by almost 1.8%. on a monthly basis. Auchan turns out to be the leader in the lowest prices.
The latest data from the Central Statistical Office (GUS) show that consumer inflation amounted to 2.5 percent in June. year to year, compared to 3.1 percent a month earlier.
Data from ASM Sales Force Agency, quoted by Polskie Radio, show that in the previous month the average price of a shopping basket containing the most popular everyday items decreased by PLN 5.90 compared to May and amounted to PLN 325.64 (a decrease of 1.78%). However, compared to June 2025, the basket is 2.91% more expensive, or PLN 9.21.
The study covered the 40 most popular everyday products, such as:

household chemicals,

fruit,

vegetables,

fatty products.
Prices were compared in 13 retail chains, both in stationary stores and online, and the analyzed products were of the same brand and weight.
Auchan is the leader
Price analysis showed that in June the cheapest purchases could be made in the Auchan chain. The average price of a shopping basket there was PLN 280.94, 9.10 percent more. less than in May. Second place was taken by Selgros Cash & Carry and it is the only chain – apart from Auchan – where purchases cost less than PLN 300 last month. At the other extreme is Aldi, where the average basket value was PLN 350.69.
Among various commercial formats, the cheapest purchases could be made in Cash & Carry stores, where the average basket value was PLN 297.50. Hypermarkets offered purchases for PLN 319.33, and supermarkets for PLN 329.07. You had to pay the most in discount stores – an average of PLN 343.45.
– It is worth noting that discount stores – traditionally associated with lower prices – recorded the highest average basket value among formats, which may indicate a change in their positioning in relation to hypermarkets and Cash & Carry stores – comments Kamil Kruk, Client Service & Analysis Director ASM SFA.
