Watch out for false emails! Blik warns against a dangerous fraud

BLIK users must be vigilant. False emails can lead to theft of data and money from the account.

BLIK users received a valid security message. The creators of the popular service warn against false email messages, which are increasingly reaching the inboxes. Criminals impersonate a trusted institution, suggesting that the user’s account requires urgent security. In fact, their goal is to steal data and access bank accounts.

Suspicious messages

In recent weeks, many people have received messages in which the alleged activity of fraudsters and the need to immediately update the data in BLIK was informed. The e -mails contained dramatic warnings and calls for action, as well as buttons with the slogan “Secure my account”. After clicking on such a link, the user is redirected to a page prepared by cyber criminals. Completing the forms on this page can lead to the takeover of login data and loss of money.

Blik reminds that this type of message is a classic example of phishing – a technique of evoking strong emotions, such as fear or time pressure. Fraudsters deliberately create false content to extort personal data, logins, passwords or other sensitive information.

Blik warns

In response to the threat, the creators of the BLIK system prepared a set of recommendations for users. First of all, they recommend maintaining peace and reason. It is worth checking the sender of the message thoroughly, analyzing its content and not clicking in suspicious links. If the e-mail raises doubts or causes anxiety-it should be treated as a warning signal.

The principle of limited trust should be the basis of every decision on the network. Blik also encourages you to contact the bank or system operator directly in case of doubt to confirm the authenticity of the message. Only caution and common sense can protect users from serious losses.
