Chełmoński’s paintings have started a long -awaited tour in Poland. The exhibition of the works of the Polish painter has just reached Poznań, where guests of the National Museum will be able to watch it until the beginning of the holiday. “5,000 have already bought tickets in advance. individual people and additionally the dates of sightseeing were reserved by 100 organized groups, “said the director of the Poznań institution Tomasz Łęcki in an interview with Gazeta Wyborcza. Earlier in Warsaw, the show tickets were also sold out in the blink of an eye. It can also be similar in Krakow, where paintings will be shown in the summer.
Chełmoński exhibition
Crowds at the National Museum in Warsaw in recent months were part of the landscape of Aleja Jerozolimskie. All because of the unprecedented popularity of the exhibition of works of the painter of Polish realism, Józef Chełmoński. The sold -out tickets did not deter visitors who tried to get to the popular show. “In recent days before the Warsaw museum, such long queues were set up that the opening hours of the exhibition were extended, and ultimately a week was delayed,” writes Gazeta Wyborcza.
Cheaper in Poznań
However, the time has come for the capital to say goodbye (at least for some time) with the fascinating world of the artist who created “Babie Summer”, “Kuropatwy” or “Autumn”. Unusual staff from “peasants”, as well as the painter’s drawings unknown to the wider audience will now see Poznanians. The exhibition is available from March 7 to June 29, 2025, unless it is also extended. Then the paintings will find a temporary house at the Museum in Krakow.
At the first weekend with the exhibition in Poznań (March 8-9), curatorial guards were planned. Tickets for individual sightseeing cost PLN 30 for people without discounts, i.e. PLN 10 less than in Warsaw.
