War for power in Polsat. Solorz farther from the rudder
Changes in Polsat Media. Zygmunt Solorz’s wife lost his position, and he was removed from the function of the chairman.
Dynastic battle in the Empire of Zygmunt Solorz continues. In Polsat Media there were important personal changes.
The wife of Zygmunt Solorz, Justyna Kulka, lost its position on the Polsat Media supervisory board on Wednesday, and Solorz himself was dismissed from the function of the chairman. This is another company in which major personal changes occur – informs “Puls Biznesu”.
According to the newspaper, Stanisław Janowski became the new chairman, and Dariusz Skrzypek and Norbert Walkiewicz joined the group of supervisors. “PB” points out that Solorz from the chairman became a private member of the council, and Justyna Kulka was completely dismissed from her.
Personnel rotations in Polsat Media
The changes were also covered by the Polsat Media management. Weronika Olejnik resigned from the president’s position. Piotr Gaweł, a current member of the board, was dismissed. The management was taken over by Janusz Pliszka, and Agnieszka Wieczorek-Biedrzycka, Magdalena Niewińska, Marcin Stępniak and Katarzyna Tomczuk were appointed to the board. The latter nomination arouses special interest.
– Katarzyna Tomczuk is private cousin Zygmunt Solorz. She lost her job on the board of Polsat Media a year ago. At that time, she informed that her dismissal was retaliation and was a reaction to a firm attitude and opposition to attempts to influence the business policy of President Zygmunt Solorz made by third parties – writes “PB”.
Solorz Empire under pressure
Changes in Polsat Media are another chapter in the struggle for power in the Empire of Zygmunt Solorz. The creator of Polsat has already been dismissed from the supervisory board of Cyfrowy Polsat. In the summer, the situation was additionally complicated by a court dispute. On August 14, the Cypriot court, at the request of Solorz, temporarily banned Tivi Foundation and Reddev Investments to introduce changes to the bodies and structure of subsidiaries controlling the Cyfrowy Polsat group. It was the court’s decision that prevented changes in other key entities, such as PAK-PCE or Elektrim.
Solorz’s opposition to the changes
The revolution at Polsat Media was met with acute criticism from the billionaire. His attorney, Radosław Kwaśnicki, left no doubt as to the position of Solorz.
– Resolutions were adopted without any justification, such as such cannot be considered a general statement about the need to strengthen supervision. It should be demonstrated why the current composition of this allegedly does not guarantee and why new candidates would give hope. So de iure, alleged changes are unfounded, “said the lawyer, quoted by” Puls Biznesu “.
Who will take over the reins in Polsat?
Although Solorz defends its position, subsequent castles show that control over his business empire is becoming more and more difficult. The dispute about power resembles the story of the series “Dynasty” – full of family conflicts and struggle for influence. The Polish “dynasty” is in full swing, and the question is: who eventually takes over the reins in Polsat?
