Volleyball Nations League tournament canceled? This is the result of terrible heat
The Old Continent was hit by terrible heat. It is possible that very high temperatures will result in the cancellation of the Volleyball Nations League tournament.
Very disturbing signals have come from a country that has two-time Olympic champions in recent years. It so happens that at the games in Tokyo (2021) and Paris (2024), the best were the French. In the case of this last triumph, the Tricolors were worth their weight in Olympic gold, and they defeated the Poles in the final.

Unfortunately, the Tricolor team has a big problem unrelated to sports. This concerns the heatwave that hit the Old Continent. It so happens that the VNL intercontinental volleyball tournament is starting in France, more specifically in Orleans.
However, the facility intended to host the competition… does not have air conditioning. What does this mean in practice? Although the hosts try their best, attempts to organize makeshift air-conditioning of the facility may end in disaster. Before the start of the competition, the volleyball players of each national team reported that it was extremely hot in the hall without air conditioning.
And yet training takes place without the presence of fans… Only when the facility is full can the situation become extremely dangerous. For this reason, various scenarios are being considered, and there are even suggestions on social media that the games should be canceled for the health and safety of participants. Both those on the pitch and in the stands.
It is worth adding that a volleyball competition in Gliwice is already on the horizon. Noting that the PreZero Arena in Gliwice has air conditioning.
This is the only opportunity in the 2026 season to see the Polish national volleyball team live, playing for ranking points (we do not count friendly tournaments). The competition in the PreZero Arena will last from Wednesday to Sunday (i.e. June 24-28), with a break from playing for the hosts, which will fall on Friday.
The last intercontinental tournament in which Poles will take part will be the competition in Chicago (July 15-19).
The Nations League finals will be held in Ningbo, China (July 30 – August 2).
