Vectra’s failure paralyzed the Internet and television for some of the operator’s customers. Problems were reported, among others: from Wrocław, Katowice and Sosnowiec.

Vectra’s major failure affected customers in many regions of Poland. Users reported problems with fiber-optic Internet, cable TV and access to the operator’s website and hotline. Most reports were received on May 27 after 14:00.

The company responded to the situation on social media. Vectra reported that the problems result from damage to fiber optic cables belonging to an external infrastructure operator that it uses in southern Poland.

– We are very sorry for the lack of access to our services for some customers – the operator said in a message on Facebook. The company assured that technical teams are working to restore services as soon as possible.

Vectra customers complain about inconvenience

Dozens of comments from subscribers quickly appeared under the operator’s announcement. Some people pointed out that the Vectra failure made remote work and everyday functioning difficult.

“There is no Internet, the TV cuts out the picture,” wrote one of the clients from the Wrocław area. Other users emphasized that problems also occur outside the south of the country.

There were also questions about possible compensation for subscribers. Vectra has not yet announced whether customers can count on bill reductions or other forms of reimbursement for the interruption of services. There were also voices in the comments that using the Internet and TV from one operator may be risky during major failures. Some users indicated that in such situations it is helpful to have mobile Internet from another company or use a hotspot on the phone.

Vectra solved the problem. Everything is now working as it should

At 20:00 Vectra issued a statement in which it announced that the system failure had been resolved.

– We would like to inform you that all services have been fully restored and are now working properly. Yesterday’s difficulties were related to damage to the fiber optic cable belonging to an external infrastructure operator that we use in southern Poland. The operator has already completed the repair work and connections have been restored. We are aware of the great impact that interruptions in access to the Internet, television or landline telephone have on everyday functioning. Therefore, we apologize to all customers for the inconvenience caused and thank you for your patience and understanding during the repair work. We confirm that all services are currently running stably and without disruptions – we read in a statement sent to the editorial office of Wprost.pl.
