Vandals destroy the Tatra Mountains again. The park authorities warn

Tourists are not able to behave in the Tatras again. The park authorities warn that this time they can sprinkle fines.
500 zlotys of penalties, and even referring the case to court – this may face tourists who destroy mountain trails by writing on the rocks. The Tatra National Park published photos of recently discovered “works” on Facebook. Using markers, some visitors decided to leave not very attractive souvenirs. “One of our employees worked hard to remove these inscriptions,” write park employees and call for common sense.
Rocks destroyed by tourists
Not all tourists come to the mountains just to spend time actively or enjoy the beauty of wild nature. Some cannot resist leaving a trail for future guests. Unfortunately, painting on the rocks is still a common phenomenon, which in a recent Facebook post was reminded of the Tatra National Park. “There are serious consequences for such acts of vandalism. The minimum penalty is PLN 500, the case can also be referred to court. It is often difficult to detect perpetrators – but we assure you that it is possible, “it was written in the warning.
The inscription is difficult to remove
Park employees also pay attention to the difficulty in removing graffiti from a natural rock. This is not a challenge that you can cope with in a few minutes, but a tedious process that requires specialized equipment. The person responsible for cleaning the stone must bring the necessary tools upstairs. The paint rubs manually, which requires long and tiring work, often ended with failure. “In addition, working in this way, unfortunately we irretrievably destroy the rock vegetation, and the use of chemicals is excluded due to the risk of environmental pollution,” we read.
Painting on the rocks is not the only sin of tourists visiting the Tatra Mountains. Equally often guests also leave the so -called Paders of love – a symbol of devotion and undying feeling, which placed on a mountain chain, can cause a health risk and even the life of climbers.
