Urgent message for mObywatel users. It’s about mID and ID cards

mObywatel

The Ministry of Digitization appeals to mObywatel users to log in before August 5. This is a condition for the automatic extension of the validity of documents.

The Ministry of Digitization reminds about an important deadline for people using the mObywatel application. By August 5, users should log in to the system to automatically extend the validity of digital documents.

The appeal concerns nearly 12 million people using the application. This includes, among others, mID, temporary protection document, school ID and student ID.

Just one login is enough

The Ministry explains that the process of updating certificates is automatic. The user does not need to perform any additional actions – just launch the application and log in to your account.

Periodic updating of certificates is intended to ensure the continuity of operation of electronic documents and maintain an appropriate level of security of stored data.

If you do not log in, your documents will expire

People who do not log in to the application before August 5 must take into account that their digital documents will expire.

In such a situation, you will need to restore them again. This means additional formalities that can be avoided by logging in to the application first.

How to regain the validity of documents?

In the case of mID and temporary protection documents, the user will have to confirm their identity again. This can be done using e-ID, trusted profile or electronic banking.

The procedure for obtaining an ID card is different. The school ID card can only be renewed manually, using a new QR code generated in the Integrated Educational Platform. In turn, students will have to download a new QR code at the dean’s office to reactivate their student ID.

The application is already used by nearly 12 million people

mObywatel is currently one of the most frequently used public administration applications in Poland. It is used by nearly 12 million users.

In addition to mID, many other documents are available, including a driving license, Large Family Card, pensioner’s ID card and a disabled person’s ID card. Therefore, the Ministry of Digitization encourages you not to leave logging in until the last minute and perform this simple activity before August 5.
