Urgent evacuation of tourists. A chair lift failure
On Tuesday there was a major ski lift failure. The services decided to urgently evacuate over 100 people.
Chair lifts failures can be very dangerous. One of these incidents occurred on February 18 in the afternoon. The fire brigade ordered the evacuation, which lasted over an hour.

The incident occurred in Henniker (New Hampshire – less than 30 kilometers east of the capital of state – Concord), at the Pats Peak ski resort. According to the Boston branch of the American television station National Broadcasting Company, on Tuesday one of the chair lift lines was damaged. Therefore, the decision to evacuate 120 people was made.
Pats Peak has published a statement to inform that the staff is properly trained in the field of evacuation. Employees – together with firefighters from Henniker – conducted a rescue operation with good results. Nobody suffered in the event. Tourists, however, had to get around the taste and give up planned winter attractions that add adrenaline.
PP in Henniker is an independent center of Alepian skiing, which was opened over six decades ago. It is 270 meters high.
Dramatic reports. The lift rope broke, 10 people were injured
A month ago, we informed about an accident that occurred on the Astun ski slope in Pyrenees (Spain – Huesca province). The ski lift rope was broken there. It was so powerful that some tourists were thrown out of the seats.
The Spanish daily El País informed about 10 injured persons. The condition of two skiers was serious. All wounded went to the Miguel Servet hospital in Saragossa.
And in this situation, evacuation was ordered. The services initiated a rescue operation to free 80 imprisoned people.
