Up to PLN 8,000 subsidy. A rain of money will fall on a large group of Poles

Mieszkańcy mogą otrzymać nawet 2 000 zł dotacji na zakup i montaż zbiorników oraz systemów do gromadzenia deszczówki

The new rainwater subsidy program is scheduled to launch in the summer. The subsidy may amount to up to PLN 8,000.

A new support program for people investing in home water retention is to be launched in 2026. The project, with the working name “Mirek”, provides for subsidies for installations for collecting and using rainwater and meltwater.

The program is intended to be a response to the problem of drought and the increasing challenges related to the protection of local water resources. The Ministry of Climate and Environment announces that support will be up to PLN 8,000.

Up to 90 percent eligible costs

The new program is to operate similarly to the well-known “Moja Woda”, which was very popular among home owners in previous years.

According to the assumptions of the program, beneficiaries will be able to receive funding of up to 90%. eligible costs. The maximum amount of support is to be PLN 8,000.

The program budget was set at PLN 173 million. The funds are to come from the European Funds FEnIKS 2021-2027.

What investments will the grant cover?

The program is intended to finance the purchase, construction, assembly, expansion and launch of installations for collecting and using rainwater or meltwater.

These include systems that collect rainwater from roofs and driveways. Support will also include solutions related to storing water in tight tanks and retaining it in the ground.

The collected water can be used, for example, to water the garden or do other work around the house.

The program is scheduled to start in the summer

According to the Ministry of Climate and Environment, the recruitment of applications is to start in the summer season. The Provincial Funds for Environmental Protection and Water Management will be responsible for accepting documents.

Deputy Minister of Climate Urszula Zielińska announced that the program will support micro-retention and home capture of rainwater in the place of rainfall.

Importantly, the funding will also cover part of the costs incurred before July 1, 2024.

“Moja Woda” showed great interest

The previous program supporting water retention was very popular. The funds allocated for subsequent editions of “Moja Woda” were often exhausted just a few weeks after the recruitment was launched.

Everything indicates that the new program may also attract many interested house and property owners who want to reduce water consumption and at the same time reduce their bills.
