Up to PLN 500 less for electricity. More and more Poles choose this solution

Rising energy costs mean that more and more households are looking for ways to reduce their electricity bills. One solution is to change the way energy is billed. According to data quoted by “Gazeta Prawna”, switching to a multi-zone or dynamic tariff can bring savings of up to PLN 500 per year.

More and more people are changing their electricity tariff

Tauron Polska Energia data shows that from the beginning of 2026, over 40,000 customers decided to change their current tariff to a multi-zone tariff. This result is twice as high as in the same period last year. The main reason for this decision is the ability to adjust energy consumption to hours when lower rates apply.

Multi-zone tariffs allow you to use cheaper electricity at certain times of the day, most often at night and early in the morning. To obtain real benefits, it is necessary to change everyday habits, such as running the washing machine or dishwasher during lower prices.

Up to PLN 500 in savings on your bills

Even greater flexibility is offered by dynamic tariffs, in which the energy price changes even every hour and depends on the market situation. When energy production from renewable sources such as wind or solar is high, rates can drop significantly. However, using such a model requires a remote reading meter that enables hourly billing. Such devices are becoming more and more common in Polish homes.

According to Tauron Sales calculations, a properly selected tariff can reduce annual energy bills by up to about 20%. In households using up to 2 MWh of energy per year, this means savings of approximately PLN 500. As “Gazeta Prawna” points out, in the case of dynamic tariffs, there are periods when, thanks to high energy production from wind and photovoltaic farms, electricity prices drop to symbolic levels. For many families, changing the method of billing is one of the ways to reduce electricity expenses.
