Two faces of Iga Świątek. Alarming pictures in Madrid with the participation of a Polish woman

Even before the start of the Thursday match, we reminded of the recent, bad memories of Iga Świątek related to the Philippine. Alexandra Eala defeated the Polish woman 6: 2, 7: 5 on the hard courts of the WTA 1000 tournament in Miami. It was the end of March, the stage of the quarter -finals of the Florida event.

Filipinka is only at the beginning of her professional career. At the age of 19, Eala is surprising with better performances. Thanks to the breakthrough tournament in Miami, the Thursday rival Świątek jumped to place number 72 in the WTA ranking. On the other side of the net, however, the Polish runner -up of world lists was, and in addition – or perhaps above all – the defender of the tournament title in the Spanish capital.

Saint, however, has her problems, looking at her performances in the 2025 season. The Polish woman is still waiting for a tournament triumph. She raised the cup for the last time for the final victory of Świątek in Paris, at the courts Roland Garros, in the middle of the previous year. The last time the Polish player appeared on the court in Stuttgart. During the German tournament, the rank of WTA 500 Świątek lost in the quarter -finals with her nightmare, i.e. Jelena Ostapenko. There was no shortage of fighting against Latvian, but in the sixth match of both ladies … The sixth time was the opponent of Świątek.

However, it seemed that in the match against Eala, on her favorite surface, the Polish tennis player would be a favorite. Filipinka has great potential, but Świątek felt great on brick courts, famous tennis flour.

The problem, however, is that a Polish woman for the match with the one below the opponent came out strongly tense. It was not visible that Świątek was to impose its conditions on the court. Instead, you could observe many jerked actions, finished with their own mistakes. The Polish woman made a lot of unforced mistakes. Wim Fissette could improve in his place, watching how uncertain his mentee is. Eala also added a lot of quality, as a result of which the match began with a set won by an unmistakable 6: 4 player.

What’s more, the second party was opened by breaking the Polish service (0: 1). Świątek managed to answer, but again Eala went out with a break (3: 2). After an hour with the hook of the game, you could wonder if there would be such a necessity to find in a moment to find … The Polish one’s last defeat in the first match of the tournament.

The Polish woman in the sixth game, however, made up for the losses (3: 3). And what is important, she consistently began to raise the level of her game. Świątek got rid of his own mistakes, which she turned into vineyards. In addition, just breaking the ball to the other side of the net, did not give such a feeling that the runner -up of the ranking would make a mistake in the initiative.

Świątek closed the second set with a score of 6: 4, and in the third party she came out 5: 1 with two breaks. It was the positive face of a Polish woman, well known from the past of performances on earth courts.

Ultimately, it ended at 6: 2 in the third installment of the meeting and the 2: 1 victory in sets. Eala managed to get closer to the Polish woman, breaking the rival in the seventh game. May it be the so -called The first plums of the worm. Świątek seems to have really big problems on the court in situations where in the past – just on Mączka – she had huge deposits of peace.

In the third round of the tournament in Madrid, Świątek will play with Czech Linda Noskova. Interestingly, another of the Polish women, Magdalena Fręch, also reached this stage of the struggle.
