Ultimately, almost 800 million passengers are to travel by rail in Poland each year, and the speed of trains is to reach 350 km/h.

– We are building the most modern railway network in Europe and this is no exaggeration – declared the Prime Minister. The investment envisages the construction of 2.7 thousand km of lines for High-Speed ​​Railways and over 2,000 km of conventional railway routes. 5.6 thousand will be modernized. km of existing lines.

– Every district in Poland will be included in the network of long-distance connections – said Tusk. This is an ambitious declaration because, according to Central Statistical Office, we have 314 counties and 66 cities with county rights in the country. – It will be possible to cover the whole of Poland, i.e. from east to west and from north to south, in a maximum of three hours, which means that life will become more attractive – he added.

– We will make it so, we are close, that rail travel will be the most preferred way of traveling for Polish women and men. This means that when we complete this great project of an integrated railway network, within a year we should transport nearly 800 million passengers here in Poland, but at the moment we transport almost as many people on Polish railways as the entire EU, Tusk noted.

– These are truly impressive numbers. We will have the fastest railway in Europe. Poles deserve to be able to move around like the Japanese or Chinese do. It will also have a great civilizational significance – emphasized the head of government during the “Most modern in Europe – #OurRailway” event.
