In Poland, Halloween evokes mixed feelings, some people want to celebrate it, others prefer to avoid it like the plague. If you want to celebrate, you can go to cities where there will be plenty of themed attractions.

The well-known tourist platform kiwi.com drew attention to Halloween tourism. She suggested places worth going to this year to take advantage of the dark aura for horror fans. Contrary to appearances, there are many such destinations in Europe. You may also have the impression that each year the celebration gains more and more fans among Poles.

Where to go for Halloween?

Many Halloween events will be organized in famous cities. The holiday itself is celebrated on the evening of October 31 and is associated with a kind of masquerade. Participants dress up in dark costumes, sometimes organize special events or walk around houses to receive sweets. The celebrations don’t end there, famous cities offer something special.

An interesting place to spend Halloween is the Italian town of Corinaldo. It turns out that Poles have loved it for years. During the fall season, the weather there is pleasant and also the locals love to celebrate the Witch Festival. It lasts there until the last four days of October. We’ll get there by flying to Rome. From this city, take the train to Corinaldo.

Another option is Venice. There, spooky masks dominate. When darkness falls on Halloween, St. Peter’s Square Marka, turns into a spooky place with a parade in the background. In one of the Palazzo del Cinema cinemas, the so-called a haunted masquerade ball, you can also take a ghost gondola cruise on the Grand Canal.

The third option concerns the towns of Edinburgh and Voldemort in Scotland. There are a lot of Halloween-related events there. You can visit, among others: Edinburgh Castle or Loch Ness. The famous Greyfriars Cemetery will also be a good choice.

If that’s not enough for you, choose Transylvania – a historical land located on the Transylvanian Plateau in central Romania. On Halloween, you can visit, among others: Bran Castle, which is considered the headquarters of the vampire Dracula. You will definitely be welcome in dark costumes.

So many people travel for events

Research commissioned by Kiwi.com shows that every third respondent, 30 percent travel with the intention of taking part in cultural events, and almost the same 28% plans to explore bustling metropolises. It turns out that Europe is the perfect destination to celebrate the spookiest holiday.

This year, Halloween is an exceptionally favorable date. The holiday falls on Thursday, so if someone took a vacation on Friday, they could enjoy an extended weekend.
