Trains will travel up to 2 hours faster. Change before Christmas
On these routes, PKP trains will speed up significantly. Thanks to the timetable changes, passengers will save up to half an hour to two hours.
On December 14, the new PKP timetable will come into force. The presentation brought a lot of surprises, and it’s not just about the official announcement of the new Pendolino connection (Gdańsk-Zakopane), which already in October took passengers on a shorter route from Warsaw.
These trains will go faster
PKP Intercity points out that travel time between many cities will be shorter. On the mentioned route, we will get from one end of Poland to the other almost 1.5 hours faster.
The travel time from Krakow to Zakopane will be shortened by a few minutes and will take less than 2 hours – this is a good reason to change from the car to the train, the journey will take almost the same amount of time.
Faster from Suwałki to Warsaw
Many good changes have also been announced for passengers from eastern Poland. So far, the journey by IC Hańcza train from Kraków to Suwałki took 8 hours 20 minutes. Now it will be two hours shorter. The travel time from Suwałki to Warszawa Centralna will be shortened by half an hour. It will only last 3 hours. 34 min.
The inhabitants of Białystok and Olsztyn will also benefit. Thanks to the route change, the journey by TLK Biebrza train between these cities will take 2 hours 57 minutes (56 minutes less). This is due to the long-awaited modernization of the Ełk-Giżycko-Korsze route.
Passengers traveling from Poznań to Ustka (half an hour) will also save money. The journey from Szczecin to Krakow will be shorter by the same amount.
In the new timetable, the carrier also focuses on equal distances between trains, because this makes it easier for passengers to remember departure times. Trains between Warsaw and Tricity and between Wrocław and Krakow are to run every hour, and domestic connections are to be made every two hours between Gdynia and Wrocław via Bydgoszcz and Poznań, and between Zielona Góra and Przemyśl via Wrocław, Katowice and Kraków.
