Trains to the famous spa will return. Patients waited for 20 years
Polish spas attract with beautiful qualities, but they are not always very easily accessible. Sometimes we will reach them mainly by car, and you can dream about the train. In some places, however, this situation changes for the better.
Good news flows from Lądek-Zdrój and Stronie Śląski. Recently, both places have suffered strongly as a result of a flood that occurred primarily in Lower Silesia. Now a big reason has appeared in both of these towns. It was officially announced that trains would return there.
Trains return to famous towns
The trains will return to these routes after 20 years. The Local Government of the Lower Silesian Voivodship will rebuild the railway line number 322 to Lądek-Zdrój and Stronie Śląski, all thanks to the new investment. The announced change is to strongly support local tourism. After the new route, the Lower Silesian Railways trains will go with passengers when all revitalization works are completed, i.e. at the end of 2027. Porr will build this line for nearly PLN 70 million, at 70 percent participation of EU funds.
“In 24 months we will reach Stronia Silesia by trains of Lower Silesian Railways,” said Paweł Gancarz, marshal of the Lower Silesian Voivodship.
Both places that will gain in investment are willingly visited by tourists, and a spa and local sanatoriums play a special role. Lądek-Zdrój is the only spa in Poland using sulfide and fluoride joyful water in the thermal treatment process, which makes them special for patients. In addition, the place is full of attractions and beautiful landscapes. Silesian website is located about 6 km away and also offers sanatorium and rehabilitation and recreation stays. The municipality is located in the eastern Sudetes, in the Kłodzko Land and stretches at an altitude of 500-1425 m above sea level, it also impresses with a varied mountain and forest landscape.
Tourists will be willing to this route
Currently, you can get to Lądek-Zdrój and Stronie Silesia by car on your own, but buses also run there. Those in the colors of the Lower Silesian Railways run as part of railway schedules instead of trains. On the section Kłodzko-Lądek-Zdrój-Silesian Side. Thousands of people drive them every month.
On the new railway route there will be stops in Trzebieszowice, Lądek-Zdrój and Stronie Śląskie. Trains from Kłodzko to Stronie will go at a speed of 60 to 80 km/h. That’s not all. “In addition to the rebuilt 15 kilometers of the track, this is part of our whole system and our philosophy of rebuilding railway lines, it will be a direct rail connection with Wrocław. Lovers of downhill skiing get on the train at the Main Railway Station in Wrocław and get off at the site practically at the ski resort.” – informed Marshal Paweł Gancarz in an interview with Radio Wrocław.
As part of the works, a renovation of a single -track line with replacement of rails, foundations and bedding is planned, as well as execution of rail and road crossings equipped with a system that automatically detect road offenses based on video analysis.
