We are talking about a city with unique views and attractions. Sierpc is located on the Sierpienica River at its mouth to the Skrwa, approximately 40 km north of Płock and approximately 124 km from Warsaw. At first glance, it may be associated with a picturesque village full of historic accents, but it has a lot to offer tourists. Just look at the photos to feel that it is worth going there.

Reaching Sierpc, we will find atmospheric monuments and attractions. Right from the start, we will be charmed by the unique and peaceful atmosphere, which will make you feel like you have gone back in time. There are plenty of wooden huts in the area, and in the summer there are sheaves of hay in the fields. It will also be beautiful in winter, although many elements may be covered with snow. A walk through quiet streets between picturesque houses will surely put you in a blissful state.

The local hit is definitely the Masovian Village Museum. There you will find exhibits from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, which could once be found, among others: in Polish homes. Tourists come there in droves regardless of the season. They can see as many as 11 peasant farmsteads from the past, a reconstructed noble manor house, a wooden windmill, a post farm and an 18th-century church from the town of Drążdżewo. Such accents make us feel like we are on a movie set. Visitors can attend workshops, shows and business meetings there. In the fall and winter, you can come there from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and admission is ticketed.

A perfect place for a weekend. Easy and quick access

Tourists come to Sierpc from various parts of the country, although the inhabitants of Masovia are closest. From Warsaw we can get there by car in about 2 hours, and from Płock in only 45 minutes. Some people come there only for the weekend, others even for longer. There is no shortage of places to stay in the city, perfect for spending Christmas, New Year’s Eve or winter break.
