Tourists fly with this airline very willingly. Soon not only to Europe, the USA and Asia
The air carrier Finnair has interesting offers for tourists. Tourists can count on more and more new things.
The national carrier of Finland plays a significant role in the travel of Poles to Helsinki, but also as a transfer hub enabling further journeys, among others. where we cannot reach directly from our country. At the same time, it is of great importance on the global market. The summary of the first quarter of 2026 is very good – the carrier indicates, among others: for 2.8 million customers, which gives 7.4 percent growth and 78% occupancy on board (an increase of 4.3%).
The airlines shared the latest information about their activities and plans under the new strategy for 2026-2029. We know that tourists will benefit from a total of 12 new routes this year – including one hit in the fall, i.e. flights from Helsinki to Melbourne. This will be the first Australian destination in the carrier’s history.
Passengers will also notice many changes on board the machines. If you are looking for interesting travel inspirations in 2026, and you also want them to be combined with interesting experiences already at the flight level, Finnair assures you that it will not be boring and reveals where tourists fly with it most often.
Hits on the Finnair network. Poles will also benefit
Among Finnair’s 12 new short-haul flights from the Helsinki hub for 2026, Italian destinations are expected to play a special role – Turin and Pisa appear on the list of new flights. Norway is also even more accessible – currently you can count on 80 flights a week to cities in this country.
It does not end with European destinations, because quite recently, after an 11-year break, it launched flights to Toronto, and ahead of us is the mentioned Australian city, to which we will fly directly with the Finnish carrier on October 25, 2026, by Airbus A350 with a short stopover in Bangkok.
It should be recalled that currently Poles can fly directly with Finnair only to Helsinki from three airports in Poland, i.e. Krakow, Warsaw and Gdańsk. There are a total of 9 flights a day, and you reach your destination after just 1.5 hours. As Finnair points out, the destination of many people is the capital of Finland, but further local travel to the north of the country is also popular, including: to Lapland including Rovaniemi.
– Currently, in Poland we are focusing on these three cities and we do not plan to launch connections from other airports in this country. However, we are monitoring the situation and the demand for the offer and we do not rule out that we will develop this issue in the future, comments Adam Marciniec, Regional Manager CEE & Global OTAs Partnerships, Finnair.
Travel inspirations for Poles. Asia and North America are waiting
Although Poles will only fly directly to Helsinki with Finnair, they can treat this city as a convenient transfer hub to ultimately reach many gems in the USA or Asia. Tourists of this airline most often choose North America and Japan almost all year round, and in winter also Thailand – including Phuket and Krabi. In the USA, there are, among others: New York, Los Angeles or Miami – in winter.
The greatest convenience is access to cities from which it is currently impossible to fly directly from Poland, such as Dallas or Seattle. It is worth remembering that when choosing a connection with Finnair, e.g. from Warsaw, after 90 minutes of flight we will be in Helsinki, from which we will fly to the mentioned gems without any additional transfers. The flight from Gdańsk or Krakow to Helsinki is not much longer than from Warsaw. Now, during such journeys, passengers can count on many novelties and great comfort.
News and amenities on board Finnair
We mentioned some time ago that Finnair offers tourists the most comfortable seats in Europe – new seats were installed in both economy and business class. However, this is not the only new thing. Now, when you choose to fly with Finnair, you can feel Finland on board.
After boarding, passengers can hear a new musical setting, i.e. an original soundtrack titled Matkantekijä: Music for Travelers, composed by Finnish musician Lauri Porra. In addition, the line strongly focuses on local flavors. The summer menu will include, among others: items with Finnish strawberries, which are most popular there in July and August.
In addition, there are many accents strongly related to Finnish culture, including: Moomins, Marimekko brand, Saint. Santa Claus or the iconic blueberry drink served on board in the same characteristic glasses as in 1969.
The Finnish airline is not worried about the future
We asked a Finnair representative whether the airline is afraid of problems related to fuel shortages and rising prices, which are becoming more and more popular in the tourism industry. It turns out that tourists don’t have to worry.
– We have ample supplies in Helsinki and we are not currently facing fuel shortages. We have secured ourselves in advance, including: price thanks to the hedging strategy – commented Adam Marciniec.
