Tomasz Fornal with a huge contract. This is the new club of the Polish star
Tomasz Fornal is one of the best volleyball players in recent years. There are many indications that the star of PlusLiga and the national team will soon choose a new career direction.
We reported at the beginning of October that Tomasz Fornal was tempted by foreign clubs. The star of Jastrzębski Węgiel and the Polish national team is a tasty treat on the transfer market. It may even turn out that the Polish host has already initialed a contract with the new club and his affiliation is already confirmed.
Tomasz Fornal with a huge contract in the Turkish league
Let us remind you that Piotr Siekierski was the first to announce the PlusLiga star’s move to Turkey via social media. The direction that Fornal is expected to take is Ziraat Bankasi Ankara. The Turkish club’s authorities intend to build a team that will be a leader not only on the domestic but also on the European market.
Further interesting news was added by Edyta Kowalczyk from Onet/”Przegląd Sportowy”. According to the journalist’s sources, Fornal in Turkey will be able to count on a huge contract, considering the volleyball scale. The Pole is expected to earn around EUR 800,000 per year of performances in Ankara. And this is only the amount that does not include additional bonuses that would further increase the total income on the player’s account.
On the one hand, it would certainly be a pity if Fornal left PlusLiga, because he is a classy, top-shelf player. On the other hand, both for the development of the volleyball player and his career, it will be good to test himself in new, foreign realities. This direction was chosen in the past by, among others: Kamil Semeniuk (Italy) and Aleksander Śliwka (Japan). But it was the other way around, after traveling beyond Polish borders and ending up in PlusLiga – in the last transfer window – Wilfredo Leon (Bogdanka LUK Lublin) and Bartosz Kurek (ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle).
Jastrzębski Węgiel will be looking for an answer to the transfer hit
The issue of replacing Fornal in Jastrzębski Węgiel may also be interesting. The managers of the Polish champions’ club are probably already preparing a plan in case the biggest star leaves the team.
It can be expected that replacing Fornal will be a big challenge, but Jastrzębie-Zdrój will try to obtain appropriate transfers in order to remain at the forefront of national and international play. It is worth recalling that in the last two seasons, Jastrzębski Węgiel not only won gold medals in PlusLiga, but also reached the finals of the Champions League. However, Fornal and company lost in both attempts to reach the top club in Europe.
