Today, the PKP competitor enters the Polish tracks. Ticket prices start from PLN 39
Soon, the Czech private railway carrier Regiet is in Poland for good. Everything is gradually, today (September 18) pilot passenger connections began.
Regiojet is a carrier that many Poles are looking forward to. PKP Intercity’s competitor is getting louder, because thanks to it a lot can change in traveling. A lot is said about the fact that the line will receive passengers of the Polish network, the more that it is planned to like routes at a lower price and many amenities. The regio is just starting. From the morning we will see him on Polish tracks.
Regiojet starts piloting in Poland
On Thursday at 8:49 from the Kraków Główny station to Eastern Warsaw, the first national train of the independent railway carrier will leave. The machine is launched in open access mode without subsidies with taxpayers’ money.
Now it will not be as perfect and quickly as it should be ultimately. In the press materials of the Czech Tourism we read that the pilot train Regiojet will ride in the mode of individual timetable, which translates into the need for circular driving with an extended travel time by about 30 minutes. This is due to bandwidth restrictions on the fastest route from Krakow to Warsaw.
However, the pilot is to help present the brand to passengers in Poland, train crews, achieve the planned level of passenger service and support the recruitment process before the complete and full entry to the Polish market.
Tickets for REGOJET trains during the pilot will be available online at www.regoojet.pl. Currently, ticket prices start from PLN 39. In addition, Polish statutory concessions and promotional offers will apply on national trains.
When will Regiojet finish the pilot?
The total expansion of yellow Czech trains in Poland is planned for 14/12/2025. The network plans to employ about 300 Polish employees by the end of March 2026, which means that a lot will happen.
After completing the pilot stage, Regiojet trains will travel along the shortest and fastest routes, reaching the time of travel equal to Pendolino trains, but with tickets at lower prices. In the timetable for 2025/2026 there is a launch of 6 pairs of trains connecting Poznań with Warsaw, 3 pairs of trains between Gdynia and Krakow through Warsaw and an additional 6 pairs of trains between Warsaw and Krakow.
As you can see, we are talking about routes liked by Poles. Many people notice that PKP is already starting to tempt with newer promotions so as not to lose so many customers. Recently, there are many discounts and connections for PLN 1. The Czech competitor on Polish connections will not end, which may be a big challenge for PKP.
The real hit in Regiojet is to be a train from Warsaw to Prague, which will appear after a transitional period, i.e. probably on the last day of March 2026 – by then, Regiojet trains will be compiled from a fewer wagons than standard 8 and will be extended gradually.
