Traveling by train is the dream of many tourists. It is equipped with panoramic windows from which you can observe the peaks of the Alps.

The Reticka Railway in Switzerland will delight every tourist. Regardless of whether you choose a journey from Chur to Italian Torino by Bernin Express train, or a trip from Zermatt to the famous resort of St. Moritz on board Glacier of Expressu, views outside the window will take you speech. This is guaranteed not only by the Alpine peaks, but above all first class wagons, equipped with luxurious seats and panoramic windows. However, tickets for these attractions are not the cheapest.

Panoramic trains in Switzerland

Tourists spending holidays in Switzerland cannot imagine staying without a short train trip. Rhätische Bahn, a Swiss narrow -gauge carrier, offers journeys along two of the most beautiful railway routes in Europe. The episodes on which Bernina Express and Glacier Express trains run in 2008 were inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. No wonder, because the views are really spectacular there. The route of both trains leads, among others by the famous, 65-meter Landwasse viaduct. Bernina’s journey begins in Chur in Grysty, to end in Italian Tirano after more than four hours of calm driving. The “Glaciera” route is slightly longer, though no less exciting. The journey by this train lasts almost eight hours. Both lines are equipped with panoramic windows, but they are only available to first -class passengers.

Tourists hunt for tickets

Traveling in the best wagon is not a cheap attraction. In the case of Bernina, the cost of tickets for the entire first grade route is 149 Swiss francs, i.e. almost PLN 170. Glacier Express ride is even more expensive and costs up to PLN 1,200 per person. Tourists dreaming of a place with a panoramic window must make reservations many weeks earlier, especially for popular terms. Of course, you can also reduce the cost of travel a bit, deciding to travel with a second class. Then the ticket price will be about PLN 930, respectively in the case of Glacier train and PLN 460 in the case of Bernina. Tourists also often decide to buy a ticket only for a selected fragment of the route. Interestingly, despite high prices, the Swiss railway is not considered the most expensive in Europe.
