Last Friday (i.e. March 28) there was no surprise in the first quarter -finals of the “one” set with “eight” after the basic phase of PlusLiga. JSW Jastrzębski Węgiel dealt with Steam Hemarpol Norwidz Częstochowa, winning in three sets. Polish champions had problems only in the closing party meeting, ultimately resolving it to the advantage of 26:24. The first two views? Smooth 25:17 and 25:19.
PlusLiga: JSW Jastrzębski Węgiel has been promoted in Częstochowa!
It is worth noting, however, that both during the last match of the main phase and the premiere clash with JSW Jastrzębski Węgl, the ranks of Norwid lacked the key character of the team. The captain of the band Milad Ebadipour fought the infection and only in the second installment of the quarter -finals with the Polish champion, he could support his colleagues on the pitch.
How important Iranian is, you could find out quickly. The Tuesday’s match began like the best clashes when they were a revelation of PlusLiga. Strong play, effectiveness on “high ball” and high pressure exerted even on the above -mentioned rivals. Ba, enough to write that the club from Jastrzębie-Zdrój lost in the basic phase in Częstochowa Hala 2: 3. Tuesday’s play-off match began with an unexpected 0: 2 in sets.
The first batch ended with a result of 25:19. Almost perfectly played by the hosts. The masters rushed to make up for the losses in the second installment, achieving a few -point advantage. Even with 12: 8 or 22:20, the guests did not manage to bring the lead to the finish. Anton Brehme, especially “added” his “added”. The German middle JSW first touched the net (22:22), then shot in cars without a block (23:22) and connected the opponents against the tide. However, as it happens with the masters, it was known that they did not say the last word in the whole match, even with 0: 2 unfavorable in sets.
On the pitch on the JSW side he appeared in the middle of the second set Luciano Vicentin. The Argentinean changed Timothee Carle. The Frenchman scored a bad day, and his colleague from his position, on the contrary, moved the team. This was evidenced by two parties, wins 25:18 and 25:20. Although the latter, she had its “moments” in the context of or returning to the hosts. It got 18:19, but in such situations, more experience and peace of favorites come out. A few minutes later it was 18:22 to the disadvantage of the hosts and it became clear that Tie-Break would decide about the decision.
It was the best scenario of possible, looking from the perspective of Częstochowa fans. Norwid’s fans deserved such a performance, the more so having such a class band as rivals. The inhabitants of Częstochowa have also proved that when they are in full composition, they can press strongly – being new, good energy – among PlusLiga.
The last batch was arranged in the script for a point to change the pages, i.e. the eighth point. In the decisive tie-break phase, the guests entered the lead 10: 9, adding a moment later the eleventh eye-thanks to the effective block-previously mentioned Brehme. It can be admitted that it was the perfect time to rehabilitate yourself in favor of the team.
The favorites did not give up their advantage. Norwid deserves applause for an ambitious fight, and the Polish champions – not for the first time proved how much sports quality they have in their ranks. It was a real match, as befits a play-off of one of the best volleyball leagues in the world.
Benjamin Toniutti was chosen MVP. The best scorers were, on the Częstochowa side Patrik Indra (25), and in the winners team Łukasz Kaczmarek (22).
