This was not the news drivers were waiting for. They will pay more

On August 13, Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced the partial restoration of the Lower Fuel Prices (CPN) package. It is valid from Monday, August 17 to Monday, August 31, i.e. until the end of the summer holidays.

The basis of the reactivated package are two solutions:

• reduced VAT rate on fuels – from 23 to 8 percent.

• maximum retail price of petrol and diesel.

The maximum fuel prices at stations are announced every day by the Ministry of Energy. Today (August 24) the rates are:

• 95 petrol – PLN 6.54/l

• 98 petrol – PLN 7.36/l

• diesel oil – PLN 7.59/l

Fuel prices on August 25. The start of the week with a raise

If drivers were hoping that the beginning of the week would bring discounts, they will unfortunately be disappointed. The Ministry of Energy announced that fuel prices on Tuesday, August 25 will be:

• 95 petrol – PLN 6.57/l

• 98 petrol – PLN 7.40/l

• diesel oil – PLN 7.61/l

The Ministry of Energy reminds that the regulations introduce the obligation to apply the maximum retail price of liquid fuels at all stations in the country. Petrol and diesel fuel cannot be sold for more than the specified limit.

The new price is valid from the day following its publication in the Official Journal “Monitor Polski”. In the case of non-working days, the price announced on the last working day before the weekend or holiday and other non-working days applies. It is applied until the next business day, including this day.

Let us remind you that the CPN package operated from the end of March to the end of June this year. It provided for the introduction of maximum fuel rates at stations, a reduction in VAT to 8%, but also a reduction in excise duty by PLN 29 for a liter of gasoline and PLN 28 for diesel oil, i.e. to the lowest level allowed by the European Union. The excise tax reduction was valid until mid-June.
