This Warsaw park is associated with happiness. Few people know what was here before

Park

Visits to Warsaw parks rarely get bored, especially if we love trees, ponds and peace. It is worth visiting them both on weekends and in the middle of the week. This one immediately evokes positive associations.

I am talking about the Szczęśliwicki Park located in the southern part of Szczesliwice, in the Warsaw Plain in the Ochota district. It is often called the green heart of this area and attracts visitors even from outside the capital. What can you do there? Of course, walk, and have fun and enjoy nice views.

A park associated with happiness

Today, Szczęśliwicki Park is up to 30 ha of greenery, in which there was once a landfill and debris. In the 1960s, it was decided to create a perfect place there for walks and rest. After it was created, it has survived to this day. We will see such beautiful ponds, numerous trees and romantic alleys. It is also known that as many as 18 species of fish live in local water reservoirs, including Pike, carp or eel, which was found many years ago by members of the local circle of the Polish Fishing Association.

The attractions do not end there. This Warsaw park is also a paradise for bird lovers. We have a chance to see, among others Species such as Zięba, Bell, Szczygieł, Wilga, Kos, Zaganiaz and Szpak. In winter, silent swans and ducks from Czernice have been seen many times. From time to time, even geese or Canadian barnics considered very rare.

Park Szczęśliwicki near the center

The residents of Ochota are particularly close to the Szczesliwicki Park, but we will get there even from the city center quite quickly – by car in 20 minutes and at a similar pace by bike. Inside the easiest way to enter between Włodarzewska and Drawska Streets. At the mentioned area we will also find an open Osir Osrota pool, which is a hit in the summer season. It is located at ul. Ukipiskowa 18. Visitors love not only water games, but also beaches, slides or a playground for children.

In the season, various types of events are also organized in the park, e.g. on the occasion of Children’s Day, which attract Warsaw residents from different parts of the city. Once in a survey – 2018/2019 – residents pointed to this park as one of the favorites. He was also considered one of the best for active recreation. Did you know this place?
