This small country is an undiscovered pearl of Europe. We will get here from Poland in 2 hours

This small country in the heart of Europe is still unknown to tourists from Poland. On site, tourists can count on free amenities.
Luxembourg, a tiny country in the heart of Europe, is a real tourist pearl, which many travelers from Poland have not yet visited. Felix Phill from the Visit Luxembourg tourist organization during the ITB International Tourist Exchange in Berlin revealed to what attractions and amenities foreign guests can count in 2025. In addition to free communication, which a small state introduced as the first in the world, tourists will also find the village of Schengen, where the famous European agreement was signed. On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the system, a modernized museum will be opened, in which one of the most important monuments for the history of the united Europe will appear.
Luxembourg – a city or a state?
Luxembourg, surrounded by Germany, France and Belgium bordering him, seems even smaller than in reality. The principality with a population of 700,000 inhabitants and a area of only a quarter size of the Opolskie Voivodeship is not and has never been a tourist power. “Many people visit Luxembourg only by passing. They treat us like a stop on their way to France, Belgium or Germany, and it’s really worth visiting us and I’m not just talking about the capital here,” says Felix Phill from Visit Luxembourg. Potential traction visitors will be enough for at least a few days stay.
“The first day in Luxembourg can spend tourists in our largest city and at the same time the capital of the same name, and then go to one of our regions – to the north, where they will find numerous castles, east, where they can explore nature on hiking, or to the Moseli valley, known for beautiful vineyards and the famous Schengen village. We are a modern country, but still hidden European tourism. ” – adds a representative of a tourist organization.
The most European village in Europe
In 2025, there is the 40th anniversary of signing the agreement to enduring controls on the internal limits of members. This date was for Luxembourg a great time to modernize the European Schengen European Museum in 2010. The renovation of the institution will most likely end in June, before the official celebration. “Thanks to the cooperation with the Italian architectural office, we managed to modernize and expand the building. In addition, we restored one of the most important monuments-the Princesse Marie-Aastrid ship, where in 1985 contracts from Schengen were signed and which was later sold to Germany. Our government started trying to return a few years ago,” explains Phill. “That’s not all, because we also opened another museum of Europe in our capital, the second largest after the Brussels museum dedicated to the history of the European Union,” he adds. Do you need more to get the title of the most “European” among European countries?
Free transport for everyone
Since 2020, Luxembourg has been offering free public communication to residents and tourists. Trains are free (except for the first class and international connections), as well as trams and buses. Although there is only one airport in the country, it is well connected to the largest capitals of Europe, including Warsaw, from which we will reach the Duchess a direct, two -hour connection carried out by LOT. “You can also come to Luxembourg by train – we have a combination of high speeds to Paris, as well as direct routes to Brussels and Germany,” advises the representative of Visit Luxembourg.
Luxembourg does not want mass tourism
Despite the attractions and amenities offered, Luxembourg does not want to attract crowds. “Our goal is sustainable tourism. We focus primarily on tourists from neighboring countries and we do not want to be the target of mass tourism. We are looking for people interested in discovering countries that are not so popular, but still offer high quality services,” reveals Felix Phill. Luxembourg, as the richest country in Europe, is also interested in emigrants in addition to tourists. However, not only earnings are at stake. The capital has been considered one of the most green and happiest places in the world for years.
