An unusual event took place on a mountain peak. Although it might seem impossible, tourists have once again proven that they can do almost anything. This time they started cooking.
Whoever walks in the Tatra Mountains does not laugh in a circus, this is the conclusion that may come to mind after watching the recordings from the last visit of tourists to Gerlach. People who were nearby a few days ago found a group focused on “rich” picnicking. It turns out that sandwiches are no longer fashionable, what matters now is… frying pancakes on a camping stove.

We have already witnessed various events on mountain trails. No one is surprised by people climbing rocks in flip-flops or hiking trails in high heels. Quite recently, a man surprised everyone by riding an electric bike to Giewont, and just over a year ago, another man went to Bystra Góra with his dog packed in a bag and an Ikea.
This time, right next to the cross on Gerlach, tourists started frying pancakes. There were quite a lot of people there and the area is not very easy. There is nothing wrong with carrying food supplies with you when hiking, but everyone is usually cautioned to exercise moderation and common sense. It is important to pollute or litter the environment as little as possible. How was it this time? Judge for yourself.

As usual in such cases, recordings of the incidents appear online. This time you can see them, among others: on Instagram profiles @tatry@official and @matej.bil. The videos have already been viewed thousands of times, and there have also been plenty of comments.
The video shows a group of tourists having fun. Sunny weather adds charm to a visit to the summit. There is a frying pan and a plate of ready-made pancakes on the tourist gas stove. These are not served just like that – topped with whipped cream and raspberries. In the background, next to the stove, we see a thermos and containers with the necessary ingredients – oil, flour and marmalade.
Some Internet users looked at the unusual picnic with a pinch of salt and appreciated the team’s ingenuity, others were very critical. “What a picnic at height! Shock!”, “There’s even a picnic on Gerlach. Where are the empty Tatra Mountains from 20 years ago?” “What bothers these people? They want to eat. In my opinion, if they clean it up, everything is fine”, “No respect for the mountains and other mountain hikers.
