This Polish attraction shines again. She received the "tourist Oscar" 2025

One of the most famous attractions of Lower Silesia received a tourist “Oscar”. Next year it will be even more accessible to visitors.

One of the most interesting attractions of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship received the most important distinction in Polish tourism. On October 3, the Polish Tourist Organization once again honored a total of 14 unique facilities, places and cultural initiatives that set trends in tourism and win the hearts of visitors.

Srebrna Góra Fortress with an important prize

The Srebrna Góra Fortress received the highest distinction – the POT Gold Certificate 2025. The Prussian fortress built in 1765-1777 is the largest mountain defense facility on the Old Continent. Its core is a complex of bastions with a defensive and residential tower in the middle. The fortress attracts not only enthusiasts of military facilities, but also crowds of tourists interested in its history. The elevated location guarantees wonderful views of forested areas and a panorama of the mountains, including the ridges of the Bardzkie and Owl Mountains.

At the end of 2023, the fortress underwent revitalization, which included the excavation and restoration of previously inaccessible parts. Thanks to this, a hotel and restaurant for 100 guests were opened in the facility.

The rail connection is back

At the end of 2026, the attraction is to be even more accessible. There are plans to restore the renewed railway connection from Bielawa to Srebrna Góra.

“The investment is particularly important for the development of the tourism industry in Bielawa, as it will allow for a direct connection of the main attractions of the commune, such as Camping Sudety and Bielawskie Lake, as well as the Sowie Mountains (Belawa – Góry Sowie) with Srebrna Góra, which is home to one of the greatest tourist attractions of Lower Silesia – a historic Prussian fortress,” Andrzej noted on the occasion of signing the contract for the construction of the second stage of the Sowiogórska Railway.
