This peak can only be conquered once a year. This is the latest south of Poland

Not everyone can go to this Polish peak. To get permission to get Opołonka, you need to register in advance.
The capture of Opołonka, which is the southernmost point of Poland, is the dream of many tourists. Located outside the trail, the peak at the border of Poland and Ukraine is inaccessible to visitors for most of the year. The exception is November 11, when a group of up to 150 people organized by the Bieszczady National Park sets out upstairs. According to the park authorities, there will soon be a chance to register for the event again. “Participants of the passage take part in it at their own responsibility and are not subject to any form of group insurance,” we read on the park’s website.
Southern end of Poland
Opołonek is not a particularly high peak, even for the Bieszczady Mountains. The mountain located near the sources of San, on the border of Poland and Ukraine, measures 1,028 meters above sea level why tourists want to get it so much? It is here, on the southeastern slope, that there is the furthest south point of Poland with a coordinate of 49 ° 00’07.33 “N, 22 ° 51’34.87” E.
Opołonka is not on the List of the Bieszczady Crown, although he should be in 24th place, behind Łopiennik. Official trails do not run here and for most of the year it is practically impossible here. To do this, it is necessary to obtain permission from the authorities of the Bieszczady National Park and the Border Guard. The peak can also be obtained legally from the Ukrainian side, but this requires showing a passport and a definitely longer journey. However, there is one day a year when every tourist can fulfill his dream of entering Mount the Polish trail without unnecessary bureaucracy.
