This majestic point in the Polish mountains delights tourists. “Where is it?”

Basztowa Igła w Tatrach

The Tatra Mountains delight tourists regardless of the season. We explore them on both the Polish and Slovak sides. Some places are not as famous, such as Gerlach, Łomnica or Rysy. Tourists are delighted when they see them in photos.

A photo of an amazing point in the Tatra Mountains appeared on the Facebook page of mountain lovers. “Tatromaniak” published a recording by Rafał Rąba, emphasizing that Andrzej Mikler, IVBV International High Mountain Guide, took part in the action. The place in question is the Tower Needle, which looks extremely extreme. Internet users ask where to find it and are impressed that someone climbed it.

Basztowa Igla in the Tatra Mountains is an extreme peak

Tower Needle, or Ihla v Patrii, is located on the Slovak side of the High Tatras. It is a slender and unusual rock formation, which, although not too high – it is 1,861 m above sea level – looks very extreme and is not often visited by tourists. We will find it exactly on the eastern slopes of the Illusory Tower.

This recording from this place can be seen on the mentioned Facebook page. “And who would want to stand there?” – asked the authors of the post. You can see that there is a happy man standing at the top. At one point, she spreads her arms and waves towards the person recording her. Although looking at it may give you chills, you must admit that the view is impressive. This is entertainment for the brave and very experienced in mountain climbing.

Complex routes lead to the climbing peak. The peak rises above the Mięguszowiecka Valley, near the arm of Skrajna Baszta. The strong routes leading to the peak are those called: Prow VII and Ethic Dilemmas VIII.

Internet users react to this view

The less than one-minute recording aroused emotions among Internet users. Some asked where to find this point, and others expressed admiration or concern. “Cool… how did you get up there? And the descent is probably some kind of mega acrobatics. Respect, guys”, “They have panache”., “This place commands respect. Courage is not enough here, experience comes first” – these are just some of the many opinions we can read in the comments section.

There were also some humorous elements, as some people laughed that at least there were no crowds there. Others firmly answered the question asked in the post that they would never climb the mountain in their lives. “I wouldn’t want to, because I would let go out of fear, quite a lot. Why dirty the rock unnecessarily? But I don’t defend others, I even envy them,” commented one of the men. “I’m already feeling sick just looking at it,” added another mountain fan. What do you think about this type of attraction? Would you ever like to be at the top of the Tower Needle?
