Lower salary for a better office?
What do hybrid employees expect? This was verified in the report “How modern workplaces win” prepared by ABM.
In a study conducted for the report, as many as 85 percent respondents stated that they would be happy to spend more time in the office if the organization provided them with appropriate infrastructure and amenities. More, 87 percent. employed in companies offering hybrid work declare that they would even be ready to give up part of their salary in exchange for a better office that is worth commuting to
– The data is clear: people are not opposed to the office per se. They oppose coercion. What emerges from this study is a huge need among employees for a better workplace experience. They are even willing to give up part of their salary for this! This is not an insignificant statistic. It’s the team that tells us exactly what they need. The question is, are organizations listening? – comments Maciej Lukas, CEO of Tidaro, a producer of software for optimizing office space management.
According to Tidaro’s representative, companies must understand that the so-called “workplace experience” begins long before entering the building – with intuitive and hassle-free logistics.
– If employees are willing to give up part of their salary for a better experience, organizations cannot subject them to the daily frustration of looking for a free chair, a suitable meeting room or a parking space. An office, especially in a hybrid model, simply has to work. Dealing with these issues using modern, automatic tools means that the space ceases to be a challenge for the employee and becomes support. We relieve people of unnecessary operational stress, so that after coming to the company they can immediately focus on cooperation and building team energy. – explains Lukas.
The report was based on data analysis and research of over 500 full-time office workers (aged 18-64) from the UK, USA and Ireland. The respondents represented various industries and career levels, and each of them works stationary from 2 to 5 days a week.
