This is what Google Maps will soon look like. We know the details
Google is rolling out its “biggest update in over 10 years.” This includes: o 3D view. For now, the features are available in the US. There is no information about Poland and other countries.
Google is changing Maps with its Gemini AI assistant. It will be introduced, among others: the “Ask Map” feature that answers real-world questions in a conversational format. For example, you will be able to ask the question: “My battery is running low – where can I charge it without having to stand in a long queue for coffee?” or “Is there a public tennis court with floodlights that I could play on tonight?”
Another example of using the new solution is a question like: “I’m going to the Grand Canyon – are there any recommended places worth stopping along the way?” Information from over 300 million places will then be analyzed, including reviews from a community of over 500 million users. Results will be personalized based on the places you search or save in Maps.
Google Maps in a new way. For now, USA and India. What about Poland and other countries?
“Ask the Map” will, for example, know that a given person likes vegan restaurants. The option is already available in the US and India for Android and iOS devices, and will soon be available on desktop computers. There is no word on when the features will appear in other countries. The way your route is displayed will also be updated. The graphics will be refreshed and the instructions will be more intuitive, which will help you stay focused while driving.
The 3D view will reflect buildings, viaducts and terrain. The Maps app will also highlight key road features such as lanes, crosswalks, traffic lights and stop signs to help you confidently turn or merge into traffic. Actual Street View and aerial photos will be used for this purpose. As emphasized, this is “the largest navigation update in over 10 years.”
