This is the secret of Iga Świątek’s problems. The Polish woman’s crying only confirms this

Iga Świątek

Iga Świątek did not win any title in the 2026 season. It is increasingly difficult for Poland to reach the decisive phases of tournaments. What is the tennis player’s problem?

There is no denying that the competition in world tennis is huge. Staying at the top for years is a difficult art. However, this is achieved by Iga Świątek, who has been consistently on her way to the top since 2020, after winning Roland Garros. Less than two years later, at the beginning of April 2022, she became the leader of the world ranking.

And although she is currently number 3, we are still talking about a player who is among the top 5-10 tennis players in the world.

Iga Świątek’s problem is known. A secret told by the Polish woman herself

Świątek started Wimbledon 2026 with a victory over Taylor Towsend. The match against the American was difficult for the best Polish tennis player. The defending champion in London started with a confident set win, but in the second set, the favorite’s game… completely collapsed. However, in the third part, Świątek got back on track.

However, this is a scenario that repeats itself regularly. This is the secret of Świątek’s problems, as on the court she seems to be fighting not only with her opponents, but also with… herself.

– These were clearly the problems Iga talked about after the match with Marta Kostiuk, the lost match at Roland Garros. The Pole directly admitted that for some time she has been facing very “stable” problems, which consist in the following: First, she loses her serve. Not in the sense of breaking, but simply that her serve is getting weaker. Then he moves worse on his legs. And then everything falls apart and she fights it, not knowing how long this fight will last. Maybe a week, maybe a month, maybe a season. And finally she added: That she can do more – admitted Maciej Trąbski, a journalist of “Przegląd Sportowy” and Onet, present at Wimbledon.

After the win over Towsend, the Pole did not hide her tears. Świątek burst into tears, but in the end she triumphed, which was the most important thing.

Wimbledon 2026 broadcasts can be followed on Polsat sports channels and online at Polsat Box Go. The tournament is scheduled for June 29 – July 12.
