This is how Robert Lewandowski said goodbye to Barcelona. The Pole was not ashamed of tears
Robert Lewandowski officially played the last match on Spotify Camp Nou. The Pole said goodbye to the fans of the legendary Catalan club in a special way.
The Pole himself announced on Saturday (i.e. May 16) that the story of Robert Lewandowski and FC Barcelona would come to an end, placing an eloquent entry and a recording on social media.
Although the possible breakup of RL9 and the Pride of Catalonia was becoming more and more loud from week to week, when the official confirmation actually came, there were many very moving reactions. And showing how important a figure for one of the most important football clubs in the world the Polish striker became during his stay in LaLiga.
Robert Lewandowski’s tears of emotion. The Pole’s farewell to Barcelona!
The culminating moment was the competition against Real Betis on Sunday (i.e. May 17). The Spanish champions won the match 3-1, and Lewandowski was the hosts’ captain in this match.
The Pole did not manage to get on the scoresheet, but it must be admitted that it was not that important considering the entire surroundings of the match. Lewandowski attracted a large group of Polish fans to the stands, but there were also plenty of local fans, and actually from all over the world, who wanted to thank the sniper for all his years of performances.
Let us recall that the RL9 appeared in Barcelona’s ranks in the summer of 2022. He arrived in the capital of Catalonia as a big star. Bayern Munich’s best striker and one of the most important players in the Bundesliga. However, the Pole decided to move to Barcelona, which is in crisis – especially financial and organizational ones.
Over the course of four seasons, RL9 became a key figure in the club. The Pole won three championship titles and became the leading scorer, including: crossing the mark of 100 goals scored for Barcelona.
In Sunday’s match against Real Betis, the Pole was replaced at the end of the match, he was not ashamed of his tears, and he was very moved.
Even at the end of the match, Lewandowski was repeatedly feted with shouts from the stands, for which he thanked the fans very much. After the final whistle, the Pole was also given a lift by the team, and a special lane was created. The footballer himself spoke to the fans, thanking them for their support and all these years.
Lewandowski was, of course, accompanied by his three women in life, i.e. his wife Anna and two daughters.
There is no doubt that a unique era has come to an end. At least in terms of such a significant figure from Poland in one of the best football clubs in history.
