The government has done everything to protect drivers from the global fuel price crisis for as long as possible, said the Minister of Energy on TVN24.

At the beginning of September, the second edition of the Lower Fuel Prices (CPN) package, valid from August 17 to 31, became history. Let us remind you that the basis of the reactivated package (the “first” CPN operated from the end of March to the end of June) was two solutions:

  • reduced VAT rate on fuels – from 23 to 8 percent.

  • maximum retail price of petrol and diesel.

Thus, on September 1, the VAT rate on fuels returned to the standard level, and the maximum prices at gas stations set by the government ceased to apply. As reported by RMF FM radio, on Tuesday morning Warsaw drivers paid PLN 7.64 for a liter of the popular “95”, while the day before it was PLN 6.64, i.e. PLN 1 less. The price of diesel increased even more, yesterday it cost PLN 8.49/l, and on August 31 it was PLN 7.31.
