Data presented on Thursday by the Central Statistical Office (GUS) shows that the average gross salary in the enterprise sector in February this year was PLN 9,135.69. This is an increase of 6.1%. compared to the same period in 2025.
– The average monthly gross salary in the enterprise sector in February 2026 was 6.1% higher than in February 2025. – informs the Central Statistical Office in a press release.
Salaries in February. “9” not at risk
The office also reported that the average monthly gross salary in the enterprise sector was 1.5% higher than in January. This means that in the previous month, Poles earned not only more than in February last year, but also more than in the first month of 2026.
It is also worth recalling that in December 2025, the average salary was PLN 9,583.31 gross, which meant exceeding the limit of PLN 9,500, only a month after exceeding the level of PLN 9,000. In January, this barrier was maintained, but only slightly (PLN 9,002.47 gross was recorded then). As you can see, there has been a rebound now, although it is far from the December result. However, it must be remembered that the last month of 2025 is the time of additional payments, including, among others: Christmas bonuses or prizes on Miner’s Day.
It is also worth noting that February was another month in which price increases significantly exceeded the pace of price increases. Let us recall that consumer inflation in February was only 2.1%.
Today, the Central Statistical Office also announced that in February the average employment in the enterprise sector amounted to 6,398.1 thousand. full-time positions, which means a decrease of 0.8%. in relation to the same period in 2025.
The data presented by the Central Statistical Office concern entities from the enterprise sector, which is part of the national economy. This sector includes entities employing at least ten employees (approximately 40% of all people working in the Polish economy).
