This is how much Poles spend at fairs. Some people don’t even try to save
Prices at fairs are shocking again. Some Poles intend to spend a lot on Christmas pleasures this year.
Today, on the Main Market Square in Krakow, a piece of bread with lard and toppings costs almost PLN 70. The prices of mulled wine, grilled oscypek cheese, popular Spanish churros and dumplings from Magda Gessler are also shocking. Poles will spend much more for a few hours’ stay at the fair in the de luxe version than for dinner in a restaurant. Before going to a holiday party, many people assume the maximum budget they can spend on pleasures. However, there are also those who do not intend to limit themselves. They easily spend the equivalent of what would be spent on a multi-day holiday abroad.
Expenditures at Christmas fairs. 43 percent Poles think
How much are Poles willing to spend at a Christmas market? The latest SW Research study for Leonardo Hotels Polska shows that the largest part of the inhabitants of our country limits their budget for expenses at this type of events to PLN 200 per person, including travel and accommodation costs. If a resident of Katowice wanted to go to a fair in Wrocław, after purchasing train tickets, he would have less than PLN 100 left for this purpose. However, some are willing to pay a little more. “Three out of ten respondents spend from PLN 201 to PLN 400, and 15 percent respondents spend from PLN 401 to PLN 600 on expenses related to Christmas markets,” we read.
For them, price does not matter
There are also absolute record holders for whom high prices are not such a big obstacle to enjoying the charm of winter attractions. Every tenth person admits that they are willing to spend more than PLN 600 per person at the fair. For this price, you can treat yourself to a several-day holiday in Albania or Bulgaria, including flight and accommodation.
Despite rising prices, fairs in Poland are still more popular than those abroad. “Respondents most often decided to visit a fair in their city (60%). Almost every second person (46%) visited a fair in another city in Poland, and 15%. people attended fairs abroad,” the study shows.
