This is how Iga Świątek is fighting! The Polish champion made the impossible

It was a match worthy of Roland Garros. Iga Świątek defeated Jelena Rybakina after more than 2.5 hours of fighting on the central court in Paris. The Polish woman is playing!
The match of Iga Świątek with Jelena Rybakina promised to be a real hit at this stage of the ladies’ tournament. Roland Garros and a Polish woman is a very good combination, but Kazaszka also has his sporting arguments. She showed them many times, though a fact, if they were looking at the types towards the favorites of the Sunday match, Polish was given a little more chance.
However, Świątek came to Paris to rebuild morale. It was difficult to be a special optimist after the performances of the Polish player on brick courts (i.e. her favorite) in Stuttgart, Madrid or Rome.
Roland Garros: Iga Świątek – Jelena Rybakina. Battle for the quarter -finals!
Świątek at the Grand Slam courts Roland Garros actually introduced herself to the whole world. This took place in the 2020 edition, when the Polish woman won in the unusual struggle at the time, just during the Covid-19 pandemic period. Some could then say that a young Polish woman had a one -time jump, but a player from near Warsaw, made her tennis fortress from Paris.
Świątek was won by Roland Garros in the 2020, and then 2022, 2023 and 2024. The Polish woman screwed subsequent records, becoming an expert on playing on meal. You do not need to write about the further history of Świątek, the times of number 1 in the WTA ranking, additionally 22 won tournaments in your career.
The Polish woman was 24 years old on May 31. Świątek has had difficult, demanding months behind him. In the middle of the previous season, a positive anti -doping test – ultimately explained in favor of a Polish woman (randomness of taking a contaminated party of the allowed drug) – a change of trainer and increasing pressure of the sports result. Already in the 2025 season, having a new coach at the staff, Świątek tries to return to the winning path again. The facts, however, are that Wim Fissette did not make the Polish woman win tournaments. Świątek, with number 5 in the WTA ranking and a tournament ladder, came to defend the title in Paris.
The Polish woman defeated Rebbea Sramkova in the first round, then in the second round Emma Raducan, and in the third round Jaqueline Cristan. Importantly, the title defender reached the match with Jelena Rybakina without losing a set. It was known, however, that this match with Kazaszka would be the most serious sports exam.
The opening of the Sunday clash by the quarter -finals was shocking. Rybakina was one step away from victory … 6: 0. Ultimately, there were no three breaks at the beginning, but the Polish woman only managed to powder the result a bit, losing clearly 1: 6.
It seemed that the Polish woman had nothing to get about when looking at the rival’s disposition. Rybakina won from Świątek after 35 minutes. The Polish woman clearly entered the game, which Kazaszka preferred, unable to find a way to find some mini-series of good play. The effect was devastating.
Tennis, however, has this element of madness, that every set, and sometimes even GEM, can be the beginning of a completely new story. Kazaszka has already reached the third break at the opening of the second edition (1: 0). What’s more, after a while Rybakina corrected to 2: 0, in both games not losing even one point. With 1: 6 and 0: 2, the Polish woman was under the wall. Such a difficult situation, however, meant that Świątek began a real struggle to return to the right track. It seems that the key number 5 was crucial. Świątek returned a moment earlier with a break to 2: 2, and then – after almost 10 minutes of the game – she defended her pass and went to the lead 3: 2, for the first time in the whole match.
It ended at 6: 3 for Świątek, which shows the scale of the change in accents, looking at the fate of the competition. From 2: 0 for Kazaszka to 3: 6 to the detriment of Rybakina. The set lasted 48 minutes and gave new hope the defender of the title.
Iga Świątek released nerves. Lots of emotions in the hit in Paris
There was literally everything in the third set. From long, interesting exchanges, through strong, ending impacts. But also errors resulting from the meeting rate.
After one of the actions, in the fifth game at 2: 2 and the Rybakina website, Świątek hit the net with rage with rage, previously wasting a convenient chance to score a point.
A moment later, the Polish woman had to defend herself against three breaks (15:40 and 40: A), with 2: 3 on the board. Saint, however, managed to withstand the pressure of Kazaszka. And as it happens very often in the case of tennis, equal matches, unused opportunities in the previous game, they affect the next one. The Polish woman knew it well, breaking fishermen in the seventh installment of the third set to 4: 3. At this time, two hours of playing on the central court in Paris passed.
How unpredictable is tennis? So that after a few minutes it was 4: 4, and Kazaszka noted the return break. One is the offensive, aggressive game of fisherman. Second? A few Polish errors, even … double service error at 30:40.
However, Świątek did not intend to give anything to Kazaszka. In the next game, the Polish woman took the lead 40:15. What’s more, Rybakina made – and how – a double service error just like Christmas. However, it turned out that the line judge made a mistake, corrected by the main arbitrator, rightly.
Having the “second life” of Rybakin to the advantage, she closed the game, going out 5: 4.
Saint’s answer? Very important, I win to zero at his website (5: 5). And what’s more, the re -approach to the break in the next installment (40:15), this time fully effective. Having 6: 5, the Polish woman for the second time faced the chance to laugh in the quarter -finals.
This is how it happened! It was a battle worthy of the final of Roland Garros, in which Świątek lasted tension. Especially when leaving the catastrophic 1: 6 opening. And yet she won. A rival in the quarter -finals? Elina Switolina, a very experienced tennis player from Ukraine. It promises to be another, great battle performed by the Polish champion.
