The “Słoneczny” train runs only during the holiday season and has been known in Poland for twenty years. We know when it will start again. Travelers can rub their hands.
The information that the “Słoneczny” train is back on the tracks will please all travel enthusiasts. Those who love the sea will be especially delighted. On Saturday, June 22, we will again use the iconic Koleje Mazowieckie connections from Warsaw to Tricity. This is an interesting and inexpensive alternative to PKP Intercity’s holiday offers.
The “Słoneczny” train of Koleje Mazowieckie returns to the tracks
The Mazowieckie Railways “Słoneczny” train enjoys unflagging popularity. Passengers can ride it until September 1, i.e. throughout the entire holiday season. It is known that it will leave Warsaw Zachodnia at 6:40 a.m. to reach Gdańsk Główny at 9:57 a.m. The destination station will be Ustka – it will arrive there at 12.22. The train from Ustka will start at 2:03 p.m. and will arrive in Gdańsk Główny at 4:26 p.m. It will arrive in Warszawa Centralna at 7:36 p.m.
In addition to the classic version of the train, “Słoneczny Bis” will also be available. This one is to run between Gdynia and Warsaw only on four holiday days (July 6, 7 and August 15 and 18). It will leave Warszawa Zachodnia at 10.55. Arrival in Gdańsk Główny is scheduled for 2:23 p.m., and for Gdynia Główna at 2:48 p.m. Departure from Gdynia Glowna is scheduled for 6:45 p.m., then a stop in Gdańsk Główny at 7:09 p.m. and arrival in Warsaw Centralna at 10:10 p.m. To sum up, the holiday connection will allow us to travel from Gdańsk to the capital in just over three hours.

Tickets for connections operated by Koleje Mazowieckie with the “Słoneczny” train will be sold as soon as possible 7 days before the planned route. Sales for the first course started on June 16. Purchases can be made at traditional ticket offices, from the conductor, but also electronically. Additionally, ticket machines, the carrier’s mobile application, mPay and SkyCash are also available.
Seats in the compartments are not subject to reservation, but travelers can use a double-decker train with comfortable seats. It is usually also possible to transport a bicycle there. A regular ticket for travel between Gdańsk and Warsaw will cost approximately PLN 60. We have to pay PLN 75 for the ride to Ustka.
According to the information provided on the website, a student ticket to Tricity will cost PLN 29.40 and to Ustka PLN 36.75. A student ticket is PLN 37.80 or PLN 47.25. Are you going to use these connections?
