This is a key change in the Polish national team. This is how we play in the match against Portugal
Michał Probierz revealed his cards for the Portugal-Poland match. The national team coach did not decide on any changes that would particularly surprise the fans.
The Portugal-Poland match will be an important test for the Polish team. The team led by coach Michał Probierz will face one of the favorites to win the entire UEFA Nations League. Additionally, it will be a match without the participation of Robert Lewandowski, the captain of the White and Reds.
Portugal – Poland. What lineup will the Poles play in?
“Lewy” suffered a back injury in the last match of FC Barcelona and his break will most likely last around ten days. It became clear that the Poles had to cope without RL9 during the November training camp.
What squad did coach Probierz delegate to the match against the group leader? The selector did not shock with his decisions, choosing rather variants that he had already tested to some extent.
The Poles will play in a 1-3-5-2 formation.
Marcin Bułka in goal. In defense, from the left: Jakub Kiwior, Jan Bednarek and Kamil Piątkowski. Additionally, Nicola Zalewski on the left, Piotr Zieliński (as captain), Taras Romanczuk and Sebastian Szymański in the middle, and Bartosz Bereszyński on the right. Kacper Urbański and Krzysztof Piątek in attack.
At least that’s what it looked like before the warm-up. However, Szymański suffered an injury in the final stretch and was replaced by Mateusz Bogusz in the starting line-up. This will be a great opportunity for a player who shines on the pitches of the American MLS.
UEFA Nations League: The Polish national team has a chance of advancing
After four rounds, it is still not certain who will play next in the A League. The leaders of Group 1 are the Portuguese, who lost their first points only on Tuesday evening. Cristiano Ronaldo and company were stopped by the Scots, drawing with the leader goalless and thus gaining… their first point in this year’s competition.
Portugal has 10 points and the lead. In second place are the Croatians, who lost (1-2) to Portugal away, but were able to beat both the Scots (2-1) and the Poles (1-0) at home. Additionally, the draw at the PGE National Stadium (3:3) was very important from Croatia’s perspective, as it allowed them to maintain distance over the Polish national team. However, Coach Probierz’s team still has a chance to be among the two best teams in the group, which will advance them to the play-off phase, to the quarter-finals.
The Poles have four points and two more games to play. These will take place during the November international break. First, away to Portugal (November 15), and then, at the end of the group games, at home to Scotland (November 18).
The third place in the group, where the Poles are, means they have to play a play-off with one of the teams from League B to stay among the best in the UEFA Nations League. Fourth position means direct relegation. However, it seems that Scotland should not leapfrog Poland, although the fact is that a lot can still happen in group 1.
