Only 20 kilometers from the border separates Poles from the most beautiful health resort in the Czech Republic. The sanatorium in Janské Lázně is an ideal place for winter.
Winter does not have to mean giving up your stay at health resorts. Some towns show their most beautiful appearance during the winter months. Places worth paying attention to in November, December and January include Janske Lazne in the Czech Republic. This unique mountain sanatorium located on the outskirts of the Karkonosze National Park attracts visitors from both the Czech Republic and Poland. They are only 30 minutes away by car from the border with our country.
Czech spa for winter
Janske Lazne boasts a reputation as one of the best spa resorts in the Czech Republic. A small town serving as the only health resort in the Czech part of the Karkonosze Mountains combines the features of a quiet medicinal destination and a tourist winter resort. The history of thermal springs (bicarbonate-calcium-sodium) in this area dates back to 1006, when, according to legend, they were discovered by the knight Jan Hockov. However, the resort itself was built much later, in the 17th century, when the first six spa buildings were built here. Today, this place is famous primarily for its numerous ski slopes, a historic market square with an Art Nouveau colonnade where dance evenings for visitors are regularly held, and paths in the treetops, from where there is a view of the surrounding peaks. Seniors over 65 years of age will pay CZK 250 (approximately PLN 42) to enter the attraction. For comparison, the admission price to a similar facility in Świeradów-Zdrój is PLN 69 (PLN 62 for retirees and pensioners with a valid ID).
Cheap stays in a sanatorium for patients
You can plan a stay at the sanatorium in Janské Lázně even under the National Health Fund, although, of course, a number of conditions must be met. Polish spa guests who decide to pay and, therefore, also faster, can expect really attractive prices. For a week’s stay with breakfast and dinner, free access to the SPA and fitness center and treatments (the program includes massages, baths and drinking sessions) we will pay even less than PLN 2,000 per person. What’s more, if you book your stay until December 15, 2024, you will receive a free ticket to the treetop path.
