This fuel is becoming more and more difficult to obtain in Poland. The problems don’t end there
Winter is not going away, and owners of houses heated with pellets complain that it is increasingly difficult to obtain it. Where supplies are not yet exhausted, prices may cause headaches.
As “Fakt” writes, thousands of owners of houses heated with pellets feel stuck in the bottle. People who did not stock up more fuel for the winter now have a problem because there is a shortage of pellets on the market. — I only have 30 bags of 15 kg left. The furnace consumes three a day – says Mrs. Zofia from Dobre Miasto in Warmia in an interview with the newspaper.
Pellet disappears from the market. Prices are going up significantly
The 78-year-old does not hide her fears that she will not have enough supplies until the end of winter. She would like to refill them, but you can’t buy pellets anywhere in the area. Residents of other parts of the country have a similar problem, and in places where supplies have not yet been exhausted, prices may cause headaches. The calculations presented by Mrs. Zofia show that the cost of heating her house is almost PLN 100 per day (a bag costs PLN 32). In some places, you can pay up to PLN 2,500 per tonne of pellets. zloty. You have to take into account even higher costs when buying pellets online (including transport, you have to take into account the cost of PLN 3,000). Meanwhile, as the newspaper notes, in summer the price is PLN 1.2 thousand. PLN per tonne.
Why are prices rising? This is related to, among others, with the fact that there is a lack of a key component of pellets, i.e. sawdust (one of the reasons are the restrictions on felling introduced by the Ministry of Climate and Environment). Wood plants have less raw material, and this affects the entire market, including the unavailability of pellets. Moreover, some sawmills that supplied pellet companies with raw material use sawdust themselves, burning it in furnaces to dry the wood.
— In winter it is rather normal that the price increases. We all know that it is most profitable to buy fuel in the spring and summer, but people do not do it – A pellet seller from the province tells “Fakt”. Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship.
