Is there anything that can be done to ensure that checked baggage handed over to the airline is always safe? A new feature makes it easy to track him. Here’s what tourists should know.

Traveling by plane with checked baggage may end unfavorably for the tourist. These are situations in which a given airline loses a suitcase somewhere and it does not arrive where it should on time. Many of the victims of such incidents included: Poles. It turns out that this problem can be solved easily.

Air baggage tracking. New feature

Airlines, even if they approach passenger service in the most professional manner, sometimes lose luggage. It happens that a suitcase accidentally arrives in a different city than it should or stays at the destination port. Tourists should prepare for such an eventuality to avoid stress and problems.

From the beginning of March 2026, thanks to the Google function, it is possible to share the location of luggage with airlines in the event of loss. This can be done, they have an Android phone and the Find Hub app. According to experts, this type of functionality significantly helps carriers.

How to share luggage location with new Google option?

Passengers can share the location of a Find Hub-compatible tag or network accessory with airlines. The software allows you to generate a secure link to your baggage location that can be sent directly to the airline to help them locate it. This action is an alternative option to the classic missing person report and will significantly speed up the process of recovering the loss.

In practice, it works like this: in the application, you need to select a lost item (e.g. a suitcase with a locator inside) and click the “Share item location” option. It is necessary to have a Bluetooth locator (so-called tag) or an accessory compatible with the Find Hub network.

The function is being implemented in cooperation with over 10 global carriers, including: Lufthansa Group, Air India, Turkish Airlines, Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) and China Airlines. Coming soon to Qantas.
