This device consumes electricity like crazy. Bills can increase significantly

Not only the refrigerator or washing machine increase electricity bills. One kitchen appliance uses many times more energy and can cost hundreds of zlotys a year.

Rising energy prices mean that more and more people are looking for ways to reduce electricity consumption. Although most home appliances consume energy all year round, some have a much greater impact on your bills than others.

Even equipment left on standby consumes electricity. That’s why experts remind us that it is worth disconnecting devices that we are not currently using from the power supply.

The charger also consumes electricity

A phone charger left in the socket still uses a small amount of energy. In the case of a 90 W model, the cost of such consumption may be approximately PLN 6 per year. Modern devices meet EU standards that limit energy consumption in standby mode to a maximum of 0.1 W.

However, disconnecting unused equipment is important not only for bills. In the case of older devices, it also reduces the risk of failure or short circuit of the electrical installation.

These devices generate the highest costs

The most energy-consuming devices in the home are those used in the kitchen. An average refrigerator works 24 hours a day and consumes approximately 0.75 kWh of energy per day, which translates into approximately PLN 170 in costs per year.

The washing machine consumes from 0.6 to 1 kWh of energy during one cycle. If washed daily, the annual cost of use may range from approximately PLN 135 to PLN 226.

The oven needs even more energy. A 2,500-watt model used for about half an hour every day can use about 365 kWh of energy in a year. This means an expense exceeding PLN 230 per year.

An induction hob increases electricity bills the most

The biggest energy guzzler among popular kitchen appliances is the induction hob. An hour of device operation may cost approximately PLN 1.50. If we use it for an average of an hour every day, the annual cost of energy consumed can reach approximately PLN 550.

Experts emphasize that the greatest savings can be achieved not only by choosing energy-saving devices, but also by wisely using household appliances and turning off electronics when they are not needed.
