This country was to be a hit among tourists. It may lose them quickly

Although the Asian country was to attract crowds due to the serial hit HBO, the tourism industry has reasons to be concerned. A strong earthquake can scare off foreign guests from travel.
Thailand is a direction more and more willingly explored by Polish tourists. The state located in Southeast Asia guarantees great rest on beautiful islands and quite low prices on the spot, and the serial hit HBO “White Lotos” was supposed to attract even more people here. Recently, the fears of potential guests could have aroused a strong earthquake with an epicenter in the neighboring Mjanma.
Will it be safe in Thailand? It is worth knowing that earthquakes in this country are rare. Currently, the main airports operate, and most of the incoming and outgoing flights have not been disturbed. Travel agencies operating in Poland did not cancel trips to the coming months, and rest is organized away from the epicenter of shocks. Before traveling, however, it’s good to get acquainted with the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, how to proceed in the event of them.
Officials in Bangkok, Thailand in recent days have conducted numerous buildings in response to over 10,000 thousand. applications with damaged constructions, which should also improve the safety of residents and guests.
New rules for entering Thailand
From May 1, 2025, all foreign travelers entering Thailand will have to complete a digital arrival card called Thailand Digital Arrival Card or TDAC, three days before arrival. The formality is not associated with any fees.
Just go to the tdac.immigration.g.th website (available in English). Then we go to the form in which we enter, among others Personal data, passport number, visa number. A phone number is also required.
The rules regarding the visa remain unchanged. Polish citizens who travel to Thailand for a tourist purpose for up to 60 days do not have to have a visa. At the entrance, officials can request a return ticket and proof of having financial resources in the height of 10,000 Thb (Thai lanes) per person.
No fees for tourists. 32 PLN in your pocket
Fortunately, Thailand did not decide to introduce a tourist tax. The fee was to be 300 lashes, or about PLN 32 per person. Ultimately, the authorities decided that it would be more effective to attract more guests who, after buying quite expensive flights, would spend this small amount at souvenirs, food and attractions.
It all depends on whether they decide to travel. “Currently, the industry is preparing for a 10-15 % decrease in the arrival of foreign tourists, which will be a blow to the tourist sector already struggling with the difficulties,” the Travel and World Tour portal reported after the earthquakes.
