This choice by Michał Probierz may be surprising. Expert: the staff is not Caritas

Michał Probierz trusts his players. His choices are not understood by everyone, however. A well-known journalist questions the sense of calling up Jakub Moder.

The Polish national team is starting its 2024/2025 Nations League campaign. The first opponent will be Scotland, who will host Michał Probierz’s team in Glasgow. Both teams have not had a good Euro 2024, so a direct duel after a weak tournament will be an opportunity to test the current situation in the team.

Michał Probierz has great confidence in his players, which is not changed even by the current league form. It is Jakub Moder, who cannot count on playing. What is more, it is in vain to look for him in the Brighton match squad. The footballer does not enjoy the trust of Fabian Huerzeler and it is difficult to predict today that this will change. Despite this, he found himself in the training camp of the Polish national team. Mateusz Borek does not understand the situation. The well-known journalist admitted on TVP Sport that although he is a fan of Moder, he does not understand Probierz’s thinking at all, who sees the call-up as a “helping hand” for the player.

– To make it sound good, because I’ve been in the Moder team for ages and I’m convinced about this player, the squad is not Caritas, it’s not there to help players. The squad is there to take players to a higher level than club football. Kuba Moder played his last match in the Polish national team at the European Championships and that was his last match in senior football – admitted Borek.
