Koleje Śląskie announce the launch of two new railway routes to improve the communication accessibility of the region.

Already in mid -June passengers will use the reactivated line Orzesze Jaśkowice – Tychy, and in the autumn a direct connection is planned from Częstochowa to Krakow, bypassing Katowice.

Reactivation of the Orzesze Jaśkowice – Tychy lines

After years of efforts of residents and local government, railway line No. 169 will be launched again. The president of Koleje Śląskie, Krzysztof Klimosz, confirmed that from June passengers will be able to use a direct connection between Orzesz Jaśkowice and Tychy. The new timetable taking into account this connection will be published in the coming weeks.

New route Częstochowa – Krakow

In autumn, Koleje Śląskie plans to launch a new rail connection from Częstochowa to Krakow, which will miss Katowice, where modernization works of the railway node are underway. The route will run through Zagłębie, which will allow faster and more comfortable travel between these cities.

Better communication of the airport in Pyrzowice

From December 10, 2023, the airport in Pyrzowice gained a railway connection, which significantly improved the availability of this airport. During the first three weeks of operation of the new route, nearly 25,000 benefited from the carrier’s services. passengers. Koleje Śląskie is currently analyzing the possibilities of expanding the connection network to the airport, not limiting themselves to Tarnowskie Góry.

As part of the modernization of the fleet, Koleje Śląskie has already introduced three new trains on their routes. By the end of the year, it is planned to launch another eight modern warehouses, which aims to increase travel comfort and improve the punctuality of transport.
